Ready for Lift Off
Hello my fellow bloggers! I just wanted to say hello and let you know what I have been up to.
Well, it looks like the pole dancing documentary is ready for lift off. The studio is incredibly excited about the film and is doing everything they can to support the project. It's the first time I have had this kind of support when making a project. Usually I feel like I am pushing a huge boulder up a hill, but this time it feels like I am being picked up and carried along with a big cheering crowd around me. This is really helpful for someone like me who can get stuck in doubt and fear. I don't seem to have that option here because even when I get nervous and want to pull back there is someone there who is excited about the project and wants to help me.
So, at this point, I am going to put out a video through the studio's newsletter telling people about the project and asking for their participation. Incredibly enough, I already have 4 people who have expressed their interest in being interviewed and I haven't even shared the video yet. Here is the video if you want to see it (sorry I don't have it on You Tube right now): https://vimeo.com/101860929
This is a really different kind of project for me. The topic and the documentary style are new for me, but even more importantly, it is a project that involves a lot of other people. I always wanted to make community oriented art and never knew how to do it, but I think this project will show me the way.

Both of these pictures are of my beautiful teacher, Meg, who
has been so helpful and supportive of me in many ways
