Blink

Still trying to figure out how to post these animated files. This gif should work if you click on it or watch the video which looks better

In the flow

It's strange that I would draw something that looks  relaxing when I am so stressed out.  I guess my hand has its own reality that has nothing to do with what I think is going on.

Group of Faces

It's strange to draw on the iPad and not have a piece of paper with a drawing when I'm done. I have a file now. I guess I can print it.  Hmmm... doesn't seem the same.

Two Friends of Mine

Like many people I am away from home in an effort to avoid the coronavirus.  When I left my apartment it didn't occur to me that I might be away for a while, so I just just took some clothes and my cats with me.  I didn't bring my colored pencils or watercolors, but I did bring my iPad and a journal.   So, I have been writing and drawing and learning how to use the iPad, which is something I have been avoiding for a while.  I hope everyone is healthy and safe and is able to keep themselves occupied with something they enjoy during this stressful and isolating time.

Cat and Mouse

Playing around with creating animations in Procreate on the iPad.  Weegee, my cat, was kind of enough to make the cat sound for me although I had to offer him some payment in the form of extra treats

Harlequins

I bought a set of gouache paints today to see how they were different from my watercolors.  I have never used gouache before and didn't want to wait to draw first, so I  found an old drawing from 2012 that was was just ink on paper and colored that in.  Gouache colors are stronger than my watercolors although once I put the image in the computer I can manipulate the colors to look anyway I want, so it only matters if you are looking at the original.  Some part of me is really resistant to letting the computer become part of my drawing process, but I have decided to embrace technology. Tomorrow I am going to take the plunge and get an ipad and start drawing on that.  I am thinking of using animated drawings  as a big element in my film about Riggs.  This is a good time to start exploring that.  Let's see what happens.
