Cross section

I used pen and colored pencils for this one.  I am still listening to TV in the background.

Zea mays root cross section

When I don't know what to draw, I draw one of these microscopic images of plants. They are repetitive and easy and relaxing. This week, my drawing group is thinking about sound and drawing- the sounds I choose to listen to when I am drawing. These days, I like to have a television show that I have already seen on when I draw. It is soothing for me to hear the characters speaking and going through a drama I have already seen before.

Pastel heads

I found a pastel from last year that I started, but never finished, so I decided to finish it.

Berlin- New York

I had a bad cold when I was in Berlin and spent the majority of time in my hotel.  I made a pencil drawing of the living room. Back in New York, I  added color to the drawing and decorated the space in my own way.  Something old turned into something new.  I still have a cold though. Nothing new about that.

Trying pastels

For my birthday, my dear friend gave me a big, beautiful pad of pastel paper. This is my first foray into the world of pastels. I was having trouble getting started, so I copied one of Lucas Samaras' pastels.
